BALLROOM DANCE FRAME: HOW TO STAND
I’m going to do a few posts on the importance of frame, and how to stand properly. I have gone into some specifics of frame in other posts (see the one about the woman’s right shoulder), but not in the more basic aspects of how to stand.
First, stand up with your feet comfortably apart. If comfortable for you is feet right next to each other, that’s fine; or if you want them several inches apart, that’s fine too.

Designed for couples who want to learn the basics of how to move around together on the dance floor. No prior dance skill or knowledge is required!
Bob Duncan Center, Arlington, TX
Couples will learn the necessary and helpful lead/follow skills that will allow them to dance as a couple no matter their dance skill level, as well as versatile, basic steps that can be used in Rumba, Waltz and Country/Western Two-Step, a few turns and a very easy dip. We will show you how to work with your dance space and move comfortably across the floor.
You’ll leave with the confidence and ability to dance together and look smooth.
This workshop is a fundraiser benefiting Easter Seals North Texas, and to encourage a full room, I’m cutting the normal workshop fee in half – only $50 per couple! Preregistration required at the link above.
